The best time for desert tours is from September to April when temperatures are milder. Summer months (June-August) can be extremely hot in the desert, though we adjust itineraries to avoid the midday heat. Spring (March-May) offers beautiful wildflowers, while autumn (September-November) has pleasant temperatures.
Essentials include: comfortable walking shoes, light layers for daytime, warm jacket for cool desert nights, scarf for sun/sand protection, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, camera, and any personal medications. We recommend packing light as space in vehicles can be limited.
